The School District of Clay County (SDCC) has held AdvancED’s most prestigious Accredited status since becoming a fully accredited school district in 2010. District Accreditation recognizes that increasing student achievement involves more than improving instruction. It is a result of how well all the parts of the education system – the District, school, and classroom – work together to meet the needs of students.To earn this distinction, the District and all of its schools must follow the AdvancED accreditation process by:
1. Meeting the five AdvancED Standards.
Each standard has multiple indicators that must be evaluated in order to determine if each standard is met.
2. Engaging in a continuous process of improvement.
3. Demonstrating quality assurance through internal and external reviews.
The District will conduct an extensive internal review in order to self-evaluate the extent to which it is meeting the standards. An External Review Team will visit the district in March 2015 to assess how well the District and its stakeholders are working together to meet the AdvancED’s high standards.
