Below is the current School Improvement Plan for Orange Park Junior High.
Don't forget that the dance will be held this Thursday, February 11, 2016, in that cafeteria from 4-6pm. Tickets cost $5.00 and can be purchased during all lunch periods. The last day to purchase a ticket will be on Thursday, February 11.
Florida law requires all students have a Tdap (tetanus-diphtheria-pertussis) immunization before entering 7th grade. If you do not have a doctor or healthcare provider, the Florida Department of Health in Clay County offers FREE immunizations to students.
For more information please call (904) 529-2800. Help your child have a smooth transition to 7th grade. Immunize now and return proof of Tdap shot (on the DH 680 form) to your child's elementary school prior to the end of school. Be Ready!
School Counselor Appreciation week was celebrated this week with the best counselors the county has to offer!!!
Here's a message from Kristen Richard, our Band and Chorus teacher at OPJH:
Third Quarter is a crazy time in the lives of junior high musicians and their teachers. Here is a list of events that our students will participate in or have completed during this quarter.
On January 7,8,9 Nur Chodry participated in the All County Band clinic and concert.
On January 28, Feb 1-2 Amelia Espinales, Erica Fox, Mariajose Percy and Ashley Wright will participate in All County Chorus Clinic and Concert.
On February 5, 6 Jonathan Trow, Zoe Elliot, Sierra Zapata, Nichole Jackson and Nur Chodry will participate in FBA District 21 Solo and Ensemble MPA (Music Performance Assessment).
On February 11, the Concert Band will participate in Clay County's pre-fest event at Green Cove Springs Junior High School in preparation for our Music Performance Assessment. The pre-fest performances begin at 6:00 pm.
On February 19, select chorus members will participate in FVA District 4 Solo and Ensemble MPA at Douglas Anderson High School.
On February 25 the Concert Band will participate in Music Performance Assessment at Flagler Palm Coast High School. Our performance is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
On March 8, the Concert Chorus will participate in Music Performance Assessment at Mandarin Middle School. The time of the performance has not yet been determined.
On March 29, we will give our performances of all of our assessment pieces in the cafeteria here at OPJ at 6:00 pm. We hope that you will take the time to come and celebrate our accomplishments with us.
Please encourage our music students to do their best and congratulate those who made it into the special honor groups. These students work very hard. A little recognition could go a long way for them.
