The School Advisory Council needs YOU!!!
The Orange Park Junior High School Advisory Council (SAC) is a group of teachers, parents, administrators, and community representatives. The School Advisory Council meets monthly to discuss current events at OPJ and to discuss ways to improve the school and increase student achievement. The School Advisory Council meets the second Tuesday of each month at 4p.m. in the Media Center and is open for any parent, student, or staff member to attend.
Reasons for Participation:
The School Advisory Council perpetuates communication between our school, its faculty, staff, administration, parents, students and community members. This communication allows all members of the overall school community to take an active and effective role in maintaining and improving our school. It is important that we form a partnership between school, students, parents and the community that supports it.
The School Advisory Council is a body of volunteers that meets to give input, suggestions and to provide new ideas to support the school and the administration. This council represents the diverse population of the school community which includes parents, guardians of students and other people that live and work in the immediate school community. The council provides the community the means to give input for educational issues and the school the means to receive information and assistance from its community members. The council serves as a bridge between school and community. This connection establishes better communication and encourages school and community members to actively participate in the educational process.
Our next meeting is October 4th at 4:00 in the Media Center.
On Wednesday, September 14 from 5:00-7:00 pm join us for a Fall Academic Information Night.
OPJH would like the opportunity to share our academic department endeavors with our parents and community stakeholders. Each academic department will have a representative on hand to present and discuss that subject's current daily focus. We will also share various technologies/strategies that can be used at home to best improve your child's academic experience and subject mastery.
OPJH aims to foster and maintain productive and meaningful relationships within the Orange Park community.
